Literature Text

The little girl, so soft and sweet,
looks up at me; our gazes meet.
She has such questions in her eyes,
but locks them up, so nice and neat.

The life I lead is full of lies.
I want to leave before she cries
out in pain from the harm
I know I’ll bring her – her demise.

Seeing my state, she yells in alarm.
I’m so far gone; I’ve no more charm.
My daughter, dead, a lifeless heap,
A precious light doused on this farm.

I break down and weep.
I’d give my life for hers to keep.
My innocent child, forever to sleep,
in the arms of the wolf dressed up as a sheep.
EDIT: I fixed up the poem a bit because there were some things that annoyed me about it.

Have a poem!

I wrote it in my creative writing class and I figured I might write about this one scene in a story I'm writing.
Depressing thing ._.
